Monitor Calibration Part 2 (for clients!)

This is part two of the monitor calibration post!

For my clients, one of the things that I now include in every portrait package and with every wedding album package is a full set of high-quality professional prints (pictured below!) or a proof book.

I have realized that just seeing your photos online isn't ideal when you are trying to choose enlargements or wedding album photos, as the colors you see on your monitor may not completely match the actual color of your photos. I realized this the first time I picked up Brad's (uncalibrated) laptop and opened this blog.

I was completely stunned. "Everything looks BLUE!" I screamed to him!

He hadn't even noticed, but then again, he hasn't stared at it for hours like I have, so I let him off the hook. :)

Anyway, after your session or wedding, I would recommend letting your prints or your proof book (rather than just the online gallery) inform your choices for enlargements or album photos. Also, for those who order the CD of digital images, the photos will come to you having been color corrected on a calibrated monitor and will be ready to print at any size.
